Nerve Pain Doesn’t Have to Control Your Life.

At Axis Spine & Pain, we offer advanced, non-surgical treatments that go beyond masking symptoms.

Our board-certified pain specialists create personalized plans using targeted therapies like nerve blocks, spinal cord stimulation, and minimally-invasive procedures to calm overactive nerves and help you regain control.

Common Nerve Pain Conditions

We diagnose and treat many forms of nerve pain and nerve-related conditions.
Below are some of the most common types we help patients manage every day:

Peripheral Neuropathy

Peripheral neuropathy occurs when the nerves that send messages between your brain, spinal cord, and body are damaged or inflamed. This can be caused by diabetes, injury, infections, or other medical conditions.

Symptoms often include burning or tingling sensations, numbness in the hands or feet, sharp or stabbing pain, and muscle weakness or coordination problems.

Diabetic Neuropathy

A common complication of diabetes, diabetic neuropathy is nerve damage caused by prolonged high blood sugar levels. It often affects the legs and feet but can also impact other areas.

Symptoms include numbness, tingling, or pain in the legs and feet, sensitivity to touch, and muscle weakness. Severe cases can lead to balance issues or ulcers from unnoticed injuries.

Radiculopathy

Radiculopathy is caused by compression or irritation of a nerve root in the spine. This can happen in the neck (cervical), mid-back (thoracic), or lower back (lumbar).

Shooting pain, numbness, or tingling that follows a nerve path, often from the neck down the arm or the lower back into the legs. Radiculopathy may also cause muscle weakness or coordination issues.

Occipital Neuralgia

Occipital neuralgia is a type of headache caused by irritation or compression of the occipital nerves that run from the base of the skull up the back of the head.

Symptoms include sharp, stabbing, or electric-shock-like pain in the upper neck, back of the head, or behind the eyes. Pain may worsen with neck movement or touch.

Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS)

CRPS is a chronic pain condition that usually affects one limb after an injury. It involves abnormal nerve responses and may worsen over time without treatment.

Symptoms include intense, burning pain, swelling, skin temperature or color changes, and sensitivity to touch. Pain often feels out of proportion to the original injury.
