What Is Spinal Cord Stimulation & Neuromodulation?
Neuromodulation procedures are evidence-based interventional pain management treatments that help address a wide range of spine and nerve-related conditions. These minimally invasive techniques impact how the nervous system sends pain signals, helping prevent the pain signal from reaching the brain and are used when more conservative treatments like injections do not provide long-term relief. With Spinal Cord Stimulation, a small generator implanted in the back sends mild electrical impulses to the spinal cord that interfere with the transmission of pain signals to the brain, masking your back, leg, or nerve pain. Peripheral Nerve Stimulation follows a similar approach, but instead of targeting pain signals sent from the spinal cord, it targets pain signals sent from the peripheral nerves (those located outside the spine or brain) closer to where you feel the pain, such as in the arms, legs, or shoulders.
Spinal Cord Stimulation and Peripheral Nerve Stimulation are recommended when more conservative treatments do not provide lasting relief. Your physician will first perform a trial with a temporary device to ensure effective results before recommending a permanent implant.

Spinal Cord Stimulation
Spinal cord stimulation (SCS) is a minimally invasive treatment for chronic pain that involves implanting a small device to deliver electrical impulses to the spinal cord. These impulses block pain signals from reaching the brain.
A temporary trial device is placed first to test effectiveness. If the trial is successful, a permanent device is implanted under the skin during a simple outpatient procedure.
Provides long-term pain relief, reduces dependence on medications, and improves function and quality of life.

Especially, if you have PTSD from an experience you had as a child. ARE THEY BUSY - "EXTREMELY"!!!!, are there long wait times, YES......at different times, are they "Miracle Workers", NO....but I can tell you if you NEED HELP WITH PAIN, then this is the place you will have OUTSTANDING CARE, and people who will do EVERYTHING IN THEIR POWER, to find the BEST TREATMENT PLAN FOR YOU!!!! Between Dr. VJ, and my Chiropractor, THEY are the ones that keep me functioning, walking & sane. I TRUST this man with my life. If HE can't find the problem of where the pain is coming from, he will send you to someone WHO CAN!!!! SO MANY PEOPLE go in and expect a PILL to fix EVERYTHING. WELL, if that was the case, then you wouldn't need physicians. And IF you are looking for a Pain Center to just start handing out pills, YOU ARE IN THE WRONG PLACE. But if you have been ignored about your pain from someplace else and if someone else is saying it is all in your head, then THIS IS THE PLACE YOU NEED TO BE receiving your care from. THEY WILL LISTEN TO YOU and will do EVERYTHING IN THEIR POWER to get you relief. IT MAY NOT BE WHAT YOU WANT OR EXPECT, but IF YOU GIVE THEM TIME AND A CHANCE TO TREAT YOU, THEN YOU WILL RECEIVE RESULTS!!!! Even receiving the injections, if you have PTSD with needles, I PROMISE YOU, when you receive your injection, HE WILL DO EVERYTHING POSSIBLE to put you at ease, but YOU MUST TELL HIM IN ADVANCE. They have appointments available in Macon and Warner Robins, and I found out he even goes to Dublin. If you don't TRY Axis Spine & Pain, I hope you find someone, just as good as they are; so you can start living again with LESS PAIN!! My husband and I BOTH use Dr. VJ. I have suggested him to so many people, just because I TRUST HIM! Dr. VJ and Crystal (the Phone nurse), will work w/you and your schedule and do the best they possibly can, to get you seen as soon as possible. I pray that no matter who you see, you will get the CARE that my husband and I have received from Axis Spine & Pain; and get back to living & enjoying life!!! If I could give 10 STARS, I WOULD!!! UPDATED POST: I would personally like to thank CRYSTAL JAMES - Dr. Vijay's Phone Nurse, for EVERYTHING SHE DOES FOR US!!! Every time I need to change an appt., needing an answer to a question, needing to move the appt. from Macon to Warner Robins, needing prescription sent in, THIS GIRL IS AMAZING!!! If you see Dr. Vijay, his P.A.'s, Summer or Jennifer, and you need to get in touch with one of these Providers, if you use the "Healow App', you can send a text directly to Crystal and I PROMISE YOU, SHE WILL.......GET BACK IN TOUCH WITH YOU!!!!!! You will NEVER feel alone as if you don't matter. She works remotely, but she is a professional, very efficient, very understanding, and treats you like a human being. I swear by this group of people. Once you are under Dr. Vijay's care, he has a "TEAM", that is under his same "umbrella", and Crystal James is a HUGE PART of his team.
